It is the Fourth of July and my wife and myself went out shopping and were driving in our community of Bellerose and Floral Park and it amazed us how few American flags were displayed. On our block we saw that we're the only ones flying the flag. My wife remarked that she found it appalling on this day, the anniversary of our freedom. For this I would have to agree in that this day represents the birth date of our nation and the day that freedom had a voice in the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Now we are at war, which is greatly debated about the right and wrong in regard to this conflict, but we need to support our brave men and women who are serving our nation today and also remember those who are returning home hurt and without limbs and who have given a great sacrifice for our country. I think we owe them a lot and I think they deserve our support and as such I think all of us should fly the American flag in support of our troops and do so until our troops come home.
