Aughavin Family of Floral Park Donates to Ronald McDonald House
The Aughavin family of Floral Park recently donated 15 hand-crocheted blankets to the residents of the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island to keep them warm during the cold, blustery winter season. Bearing smiles and gifts, they stopped by the House with their children and grandchildren on a significant date: the anniversary of the passing of their son, James Aughavin, who died of cancer two years ago.

Stewart Manor Fire Department Receives $100,976 Grant
The US Department of Homeland Security has awarded the Stewart Manor Fire Department with a $100,976 grant, administered by the Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. The department will use these funds towards the purchase of new self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) gear. Currently, some Stewart Manor firefighters use SCBA units that are more than 15 years old.
