(Editor's Note: This letter was originally sent to Floral Park Mayor Phil Guarnieri and is being printed below at the author's request.)

My name is John Boccuzza. I am the District Administrator for District 29 Little League to which the Floral Park Little League belongs.

It is easy to write a letter complaining about individuals who fail to perform the jobs for which they are paid. This is not that type of letter.

Our district runs its tournament from June 25 through the end of July. We are on a tight schedule in that all games must be completed by a certain date. This must be accomplished in order that the winners move on to the next level of games.

This year we were unfortunate to have rain impede our efforts. We were fortunate through the efforts of Fran Leary and his board to schedule a fair amount of our games at the Floral Park Playground.

It was due to the efforts of Kurt Meyfohrt and his staff at the complex that we were able to get all of our games played. Kurt's staff, I believe, made the extra effort to see that all fields were playable. These individuals took pride in their jobs and it showed. I would have felt remiss if I did not acknowledge their efforts.

John Boccuzza
