Bellerose Village residents formed a unified front June 6 during a village hall meeting to voice grave concern for the Long Island Rail Road's (LIRR) Main Line Corridor Improvements Project, which, among other proposals, intends to install a third track to the Main Line, which runs parallel to Superior Road.

Stowaway's Leg Falls From JFK-Bound Plane
In what Nassau police are dubbing an unusual incident, a human leg, with hip and spine attached, landed in the backyard of a Louis Avenue home in South Floral Park Tuesday, June 7. To homeowner Pamela Hearne's surprise, the leg, which fell from a plane preparing to land at John F. Kennedy Airport, crashed through her detached garage and bounced to the ground.
