FP Candidates Debate Community Issues
Citizens Party candidates came face to face with Unity Party candidates hoping to unseat them in next week's village election, during a debate March 3. Floral Park's four civic associations sponsored the event and the League of Women Voters was expected to moderate and keep time. However, their difficulty getting to the debate resulted in Citizens Party chairman Tom DeMaria moderating and Richard Pfeiffer, South Side Civic Association president and Unity Party member, keeping time while candidates spoke.

CSEA Union Workers Protest
With contract negotiations between the CSE, the labor union that represents 105 employees working for Floral Park, and management at a standstill, Floral Park Department of Public Works (DPW) employees demanded better wages as they protested outside of their building March 3 prior to the candidates' debate.
