'First Day, First Light' Event at Centennial Hall January 1
An exciting event is taking place Jan. 1, from 2-6 p.m. called Úquot;First Day, First Light,Úquot; at Floral Park Centennial Hall, located on the corner of Tulip and Carnation Avenues and formerly known as the Masonic Temple. According to Mayor Ann Corbett, this will be an opportunity for residents to tour the building the village recently purchased. Light refreshments, music, souvenirs, the Our Lady of Victory choir, the United Methodist Church Bell Choir, dancers from JJ Dance Studio, a magician and clown, an art show and more will be provided for children and adults.

Nassau's Prescription Discount Card Passes $1 Million Savings Mark
In its first four months, the NassauRx card, Nassau County's free prescription discount card, has already saved county residents $1.1 million off the retail prices of prescription medicines in Nassau County, Comptroller Howard S. Weitzman said at a press conference on Dec. 8.
