As the grand winner of the sweepstakes, which drew more than 10,000 entries, Switzer will enjoy an all-inclusive five-day vacation for two to a Breezes Resort on an island of her choice - the Bahamas, Jamaica, Dominican Republic or Curacao. This trip includes roundtrip air travel, fine dining, sports and activities and entertainment.
Though Switzer has not yet picked her island paradise destination, there was little doubt on who would be her guest. "This will be such a fabulous opportunity for me to truly bond with my granddaughter. I was looking for both chances to travel and to enjoy the company of my granddaughter. This special trip will allow me to do both," Switzer, who retired three years ago after a 44-year career in the airline industry, said.
Michael Hegarty, president and CEO of Flushing Savings Bank, said, "The local communities of Flushing Savings Bank have played a vital role in our success during the past 75 years. We are excited to take the opportunity to give some enjoyment back to them."
John Buran, executive vice president and COO of Flushing Savings Bank, added, "It is gratifying to see a special person like Claudine Switzer win the grand prize. She embodies the personal nature of what we continually seek to achieve in our one-on-one approach with customers."
