    It's a beautiful, hot sunny day and a pick-up basketball game is just concluded at a park in the local community. Imagine young people drinking bottled water they purchased from ordinary stores in Floral Park, North Valley Stream, Franklin Square, West Hempstead or Elmont. Now, think about those same youngsters drinking that very same bottled water that is purposely laced with nicotine.   • News: Will Village Purchase the Masonic Temple?

    In mid-March, Mayor Ann Corbett and the board of trustees learned that the Masonic Temple, a fraternal organization located at the intersection of Carnation and Tulip Avenues, was for sale. According to a statement the mayor posted on the village's website,, members of the Floral Park Masonic Lodge, the Masons, have received purchase offers from several interested parties. FULL STORY
