  • News: Dignitaries Break Ground on Nassau County 9/11 Memorial

    During a somber ceremony at Eisenhower Park March 11, President George Bush, flanked by former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, Governor George Pataki, County Executive Tom Suozzi, Ian Siegel, president of the Nassau County 9/11 Memorial Foundation, Arlene Howard, mother of the late George Howard, and Janet Wexler-Magee, wife of the late Charles Magee, helped break ground at the site of a future memorial that will honor hundreds of Nassau County 9/11 victims.   • News: Village Election Results Are In

    Despite a Tuesday snowstorm, a record number of Floral Park residents, 4,773, headed to the polls March 16 to take part in their village election. Citizens' Party candidates and incumbent trustees Phil Guarnieri and Tom Tweedy proved victorious in the contested election. Deputy Mayor Guarnieri received 1,462 votes while Trustee Tweedy received 1,478 votes. Their challengers, Floral Park Unity Party candidates Ralph Ratto and Henry "Hank" Brodersen received 921 votes and 912 votes respectively. FULL STORY
