Nassau County Assessor-elect Harvey Levinson has named Floral Park attorney William Corbett as a member of his transition team.
"Bill Corbett has a long record of public service and knowledge of the local community and a clear understanding of how to create an effective two-way flow of information between the assessor's office and the citizens of Nassau County. His advice and guidance will be invaluable," Levinson said.
In accepting the non-paying advisory position, Corbett said, "I have known Mr. Levinson for almost 40 years and know he will work hard to try to make the assessment system as fair as possible."
Corbett continued, saying, "This is a catch up situation and is a monumental task. I look forward to working with him to try to bring some relief to those who feel that their assessment requires review and try to find a way to provide help for our residents, especially our senior citizens and small businesses."
