The Internet can be an extremely useful research tool. With a few clicks of a computer mouse, a gateway to the cyberworld opens with endless amounts of information available. But there is a downside to all of this access. There are sexual predators hiding behind their computer screens waiting to prey upon children who are innocently using their computers.

Fire Departments Urged to Participate in Grant Program
In an effort to bring local fire departments up to par with regard to equipment and fire vehicles, Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy and Richard Ohlsen of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) held a workshop earlier this week to help departments file for grant money under the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

Floral Park Titans Football Registration March 22
The Floral Park Titans Football Program will hold registration for the 2003 season from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, at the new pool house at the Floral Park Recreation Center. The registration fee is $125 and includes all necessary equipment. Multiple child discounts are available. Family membership in the Floral Park Youth Council is required or an additional $20 fee will be collected at the time of registration.
