The Floral Park Conservation Society (FPCS) has its arms wide open for all people to join an upbeat, visionary group. Volunteers enjoy planning then planting gardens, others like picking up some tools and working whereever help is needed. An open house at the new recreation/pool building is scheduled for New Year's Day. In the morning, the recreation department will hold two short fun-runs in the vicinity of the center. Trophies will be awarded in a ceremony held at the new building. Residents will be able to tour the new facility until 2:30 p.m. that day; refreshments will be served. FULL STORY
