Police Arrest Taxi Dispatcher for Alleged Cocaine Sales
Last week police arrested an employee of AAA Taxi in Floral Park, charging he was involved in the possible sale of cocaine for months. During the summer, Floral Park police received numerous letters stating that 71-year-old Stanley Simon of Whitestone, Queens, was involved in such illegal activity.

Lawmakers Sign on to Joint Statement to Protect Today's Youth From Harmful Toxins --
A group of prominent scientists, physicians, lawmakers and educators issued a joint statement on environmental toxins and children's health during a public symposium at Adelphi University in Garden City Oct. 10. The statement calls on parents, educators and government agencies to take action to reduce or completely eliminate chemical toxins at home, at school and in any other environment where children spend time.
