The Town of Hempstead is pleased to announce the 2002 Make a Difference Award, presented annually to those outstanding individuals who volunteer their time and energy to better the lives of others. In 2001, the town honored 11 individuals and a married couple, all of whom gave of themselves, helping friends, neighbors and entire groups of people.
