Louis H. Drake, 90, of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of Floral Park, died on June 5, 2002, after a short illness. He was retired from Con Ed. He was active locally in the Citizen's Party and Nassau DeMolay and Masonic activities. He is survived by his wife Kathleen; daughter Barbara Forbes of St. Petersburg; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and locally, nephews William J. Corbett and Robert Cole of Floral Park.
Carmelo Alessi, of Bellerose Village, died on June 15, 2002. A US Navy veteran of WWII, he was a former employee of Pan American Airlines and was a member of the St. Gregory the Great Holy Name Society. Husband of Marie (nee Tannuzzo). Father of Dr. Thomas (Suzanne) and James (Susan). Grandfather of seven. Brother of Ann Smilari and Bernard Alessi. Brother-in-law of Lucille Tannuzzo. Arrangements were made by the R. Stutzmann & Son Funeral Home, Queens Village. Mass at St. Gregory the Great RC Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.
Anna Clemens Ross Kwas, 90, of Floral Park, died on June 17, 2002, surrounded by her family. Wife of Joseph Kwas for 17 years. Sister of John Clemens of Ocala, FL, and Walter Clemens of Patchogue (Marie). Aunt of Audrey Boys and David Clemens. Great-aunt of Kristine and Maggie Boys. The family was cared for by the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home, New Hyde Park. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Snows RC Church. Interment St. Charles Cemetery.
