Jockeys Bring Cheer to Ronald McDonald House
Several New York jockeys, including Richard Migliore of Floral Park, recently visited the Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park earlier this month as part of the 2002 Belmont Stakes Festival, which celebrated the 134th running of the Belmont Stakes June 8. They brought caps and goggles to autograph for children staying at the Ronald McDonald House while undergoing medical treatment and were rewarded with enthusiastic smiles.

Floral Park Fire Department Ex-captain Ed Keaney Recognized
Ex-captain Ed Keaney of the Floral Park Fire Department Alert Engine Company was honored at a 60th anniversary celebration of his volunteer service as a firefighter. Floral Park Mayor Ann Corbett and Fire Commissioner Tom Tweedy presented a citation on behalf of the village board and the residents thanking him for his many years of unselfish community service. Also present but not pictured was Trustee/Ex-chief Kevin Greene.
