Fire Department in Auto Accident en Route to Memorial Service
While en route to a countywide memorial service Sunday, May 5, for fallen comrades who died this past year, the Floral Park Fire Department was involved in an auto accident, according to Fire Commissioner Tom Tweedy. The memorial service held special meaning this year due to the loss of 26 firefighters countywide at the World Trade Center, including Keith Fairben, one of Floral Park's own.

Village Endures Seventh House Fire
The Village of Floral Park endured yet another house fire Monday evening, May 6, on Ward Street. This is reportedly the seventh fire in less than six months. Fortunately, this latest blaze rendered no serious injuries or fatalities unlike the April 12 house fire that took the lives of village residents Charles and Maureen Minerly.
