Bellerose Resident Celebrates 100 Years Young
Bellerose resident Victor Ciccarone celebrated his 100th birthday Friday, March 22 at Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation, where he's been a dedicated volunteer since the passing of his wife, Jenny, 25 years ago. He continues to volunteer five hours a day, five days a week at Parker.

Village Native Completes First Music CD
"The music business is a non-linear monster. You don't climb the company ladder. You climb several thousand, fall off 999 and get up one," Floral Park native Paul Ammendola said of his struggles while putting out his first musical recording, Let the Wind Dance. "So here I am today, a lot wiser, full of knowledge, struggling, succeeding, more struggling and so on. In the end I do what I love and keep searching."

Dan Bakke of Floral Park, now a junior on SUNY Oneonta's Red Dragons lacrosse team, had a huge offensive week recently in helping to lead the Red Dragons to a 2-0 week. In two SUNYAC Conference wins over Brockport and Plattsburgh, he tallied 10 goals and two assists for 12 points. In Oneonta's 23-6 win over Brockport, Bakke scored five goals and added one assist and then followed that with an identical performance in an 18-8 win over Plattsburgh.
