Lynn Meyforht waved her hand and the holiday tree at the Floral Park Recreation Center began to sparkle. The tree lighting program included a medley of songs led by Gerry Hanson. Mayor Ann Corbett, Recreation Commissioner Gerry Bambrick and Trustee Kevin Greene extended season's greetings.

Santa Claus made a surprise visit and met all the girls, boys and several babies. Hot coca and cookies were welcomed treats on the chilly evening. Santa also thanked Mayor Corbett and the trustees for planting the evergreen tree at the site. The village plants trees throughout the year as part of its Tree City program.
