Vacant Property May Soon Be Occupied
Raymond Cook of Cook & Krupa, Inc., current owner of 372 Jericho Turnpike in Floral Park, went before the village board Wednesday night with an application to construct a CVS, complete with a drive-through pharmacy, and another building, which could hold a maximum of four tenants, at that address.
Inspections Yield Outdated Pharmaceutical
Nassau County Executive Thomas Gulotta said a nine-month long ongoing Office of Consumer Affairs investigation of area pharmacies, supermarket pharmacies, general retailers and nutrition outlets have yielded 6,600 outdated items at over 136 stores in 38 Nassau County communities, resulting in more than $142,000 in fines.
Floral Park Native Ends Collegiate Career
Floral Park resident Ken Teleski, a senior football player at Deleware Valley College, played in nine games and made eight receptions for 76 yards and his first collegiate touchdown. The Aggies, under second-year head coach Matt DiBernardo, has a season-end record of 3-7 overall and 2-7 in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) with victories over Susquehanna University (39-26), New Jersey City University (26-6) and FDU-Madison (25-7).
Freedom Walk/Run Dec. 31
To permanently honor our residents and the victims of Sept. 11, the Floral Park Conservation Society (FPCS) plans to build The Garden of Reflection in 2002. To raise funds to build this special garden, the FPCS has joined with the Floral Park Youth Council and the Floral Park Recreation Department to hold a Freedom Run and Walk on Monday, Dec. 31 at 11 a.m. The walkers and runners will sign in at the Village Hall auditorium beginning at 9:30 a.m. on New Year's Eve. At 10:45 a.m. a Fun Run for small children who will run/walk down the block and back (controlled area for safety) all receiving a ribbon for their patriotic efforts.
