Floral Park unveiled the village's first historical marker Sunday on Tulip Avenue, across from the library near the home and seed house of Floral Park founder John Lewis Childs. President Bob Blais and AARP officers and members represented the Floral Park Chapter AARP. The AARP donated most of the funds for the marker.

Mayor Ann Corbett, Trustee Tom Tweedy, Village Historian and Historical Society President Walter Gosden and his son Trevor, who pulled the string to unveil the new marker, are seen with members of the Floral Park Historical Society.
