  • NEWS: Making Government More Accessible

    In an effort to bring local government closer to residents, particularly those who have limited ability to travel, the Town of Hempstead, joined by local dignitaries, unveiled a brand new Mobile Town Hall, that will visit numerous senior centers throughout the municipality. The 36-foot motor home, readily equipped with cell phones, laptop computers and fax capabilities, will be linked to Town Hall in Hempstead, allowing easy access to information not readily available in the mobile unit.   • NEWS: Floral Park's Autumn Fair Set for Oct. 20

    Floral Park's first autumn festival street fair, co-sponsored by the Floral Park Chamber of Commerce and the New York Racing Association (NYRA), will immediately follow next Saturday's Fire Prevention Day celebration. On Oct. 20, scores of vendors and musicians are expected to line Tulip and Verbena Avenues and Floral Blvd. Local organizations interested in taking part should call Terry Gamble, event co-chair, at 326-7709.
