F.P. Women's Club Collects Clothes for Needy Campers
Members of the Floral Park Women's Club load a van of clothing destined for use by needy children at charity summer camps in the Harriman State Park through the "Duds" program, founded a decade ago by Floral Park Mayor Ann Corbett and her husband, Bill. Club members Bridget Ann Turadek, Betsy Pastorini, Margaret Mastandrea, Mayor Corbett and Bernie Hayes load over 65 large bags of gently used and new clothing and towels. The last shipment of the season will be delivered Aug. 17. Donations of clothes and towels for children ages 6 to 16 are being accepted in plastic bags or boxes at Bill Corbett's office, 113 South Tyson Avenue, or at 102 Chestnut Avenue. The Women's Club thanks Don Vitulli, Floral Park Florists, for the use of his van to transport the clothing to the camps.
