Nassau County organizations against child and substance abuse and parent neglect have received more than $31 million in preventative services grants to help reunite families, particularly parents and their children.
Sewanhaka Students Compete in PTSA Reflections Contest
English teachers at Sewanhaka High School recently gave their students the opportunity to compete in the PTSA Reflections contest. There is always a quote to base upon contest entries upon. This year it was "Wouldn't it be strange if..." There were many interpretations of this, such as: Wouldn't it be strange if...all the nations were at peace, there was only one race of people, violence did not exist, there were no colors, etc.

Recovering, to some extent, from an anemic exhibition of pin-spilling, the previous week, the Floral Park Knights of Columbus keglers showed, in last week's outing, that they intend to do a "Council 2345 job" on the Sterling Lanes wood for the rest of the season - and that's a promise!
