Floral Park Conservation Society Sponsors Cleanup Project Saturday, April 8
Now that winter appears to be giving way to spring, the Floral Park Conservation Society is organizing its first spring cleanup in cooperation with the Village of Floral Park. On Saturday, April 8, beginning at 9:30 a.m. neighbors and community members are encouraged to meet at the corner of Floral Parkway and Raff Avenue to collect and dispose of the refuse that has accumulated in the exterior area of the Centennial Gardens and Bird Sanctuary Park.
Making a Game Plan
Ending weeks of anticipation, Nassau County Executive Thomas Gulotta released his comprehensive plan for returning the county to fiscal wellness in a press conference late last week. If not accepted by the county legislature, he stated he would seek a mid-year tax increase to address an estimated deficit ranging between $117 and $200 million.
Knights of Columbus Bowling
The expected return of the Floral Park Knights of Columbus bowling prowess during last week's outing, was no "flash-in-the-pan," as evidenced by the maple-mauling exhibition put on by the local Caseys, in this week's action, giving rise to the thought that they're back -- and back to stay!
