Plans Underway For Potential West Nile Virus Spring Return
Floral Park's Building and Public Works Commissioner Ann Corbett has been informed of plans by the New York State Health Department to mount a full scale multi-faceted campaign to address the potential return of the West Nile Virus to New York this spring. One of the most important facets of this program is an aggressive health education program designed to elicit public cooperation to reduce man-made collections of polluted water in which Culex mosquitoes breed. Contact has been made with N.Y.S. Department of Health authorities regarding participation in the planned public education program.

The 26th week's King-of-the-Hill was Mike Gallagher, who scorched the Sterling Lanes hardwood with games of 224, 212 and 213 for a beauty of a 649 set followed by John Fittipaldi's fine 607 3-gamer that had a 242 loner in its make-up. A Frank Dehler 238 solo gave him a 564 trio, edging Paul Simonetti's 561 total, built on a 209 loner, a few steps up on "Knobby" Gregory's 213 single that led to a fine 544 series.
