Wot did I tell ya?! During the last few weeks' slow-down, in the pin spilling prowess of the Floral Park Knights of Columbus keglers, Ye Writer predicted that the local Caseys would return to the high level of wood-walloping that has been their well-known trademark throughout the season, and return, they did -- with a vengence!

Jack Price led the assault on the Sterling lumber with a sizzling 696 set that was built on 223 and 278 nifties while "Knobby" Gregory grabbed the second slot with "only" games of 237 and 204 that netted him a 610 beauty. Vinny Sheehan, cranking out a 248 one-timer, posted a 604 total, edging Mike Gallagher, whose 202 and 204 solos led to a 594 trio, while a Bob Mashburn 248 single gave him a 590 triple. Pat Sweeney used a 223 game to put a 587 set on the books, as Pat Murphy banged out a 224 solo on way to a 569 trio and a Joe Silvestri 206 game led to a fine 557. Tom Moore and Rich Lahey did a "brother" act, both rolling 547 series -- Tom, with a 214 one-gamer while Rich was pitching a 213, and Paul Simonetti crowded them, at 541, with games of 200 and 201. John O'Grady downed 535 sticks, a step up on Chet Strzepek at 534 and Greg Simicich's 533 that included a 203 solo. John Fittipaldi scored a solid 528, edging Charley Bingold's 521 and Eddy Hackimer's 205 single, 517 triple while Eddy Goodloe built a 510 set, using a 231 loner to do so. Jim Kearney had a solid 507, eking past Paul Mastronardi's 503 and Mike Honan had his face pressed to the window, with a 499 "almost."

Team action saw the league-leading Medical Marvels, bossed by Tom Moore, down Bob Mashburn's Team Moss II four, via a 5-2 count while The Marksmen, with Pat Sweeney in the driver's seat, shot down the Whatateam gang , captained by John O'Grady, in a 7-0 rout. Frank Dehler piloted his Mike's 4 to a 7-0 drubbing of the Little Guys, with Eddy Hackimer as the biggest Litte Guy and the We're Not Ready unit was ready enough to hand Greg Simicich and his Hurricanes, a 5-2 setback. Ending the night's "brotherly bombardment," the Fathers and Sons, led by Fred Dorgler, Sr., posted a 5-2 win over the MP-JR forces of Mike Honan.
