The touch they lost, temporarily, may come back, in small amounts, as each week's "Columbian Cannonading" is exhibited by the Floral Park Knights of Columbus keglers, but come back it will, and when it does, it'll be: "Bar the door, Katie, an' git outa th' way!!"

The local Caseys showed some of their earlier pin-punishing prowess, during last Thursday's outing, giving rise to the idea that they're on their way back from a short period of "so-so" scores -- something that certainly wasn't their trademark, in the past and won't be, in the future.

Mike Derby was the Hotshot King, as he posted a 239 single beauty on way to a fine 575 series while Mike Gallagher was nipping at his heels, with a 202 game that led to a 573 total and Frank Dehler grabbed the third slot, with a 213 loner that gave him a 563 total. Charley Bingold used a 233 nifty to card a 552, a step up on Tom Moore's 215 single, 547 triple and Paul Mastronardi's 208 game helped him to put a 546 on the books. John Fittipaldi spilled 545 sticks, 208 in one outing and Joe Silvestri chimed in with a 529, as he squeezed past Chet Strzepek's 527 and a Paul Simonetti 525. Jim Kearney banged out a solid 515, as Vinny Sheehan, Sr. trailed him, at 512. "Knobby" Gregory and Rich Lahey did a "brother" act, both posting 511s while Jack Price was showing a 503 for his night's work. Greg Simicich downed 502 sticks and Richie Biggin squeezed into the Elite group with a 499 "almost" series, built on a 204 one-gamer.

Team action saw the Medical Marvels, bossed by Tom Moore, add to their lead as they downed the Mike Honan-led MP-JR crew, via a 5-2 count, while Frank Dehler led his Mike's 4 to a 6-1 win, over John O'Grady's Whatateam. The Fathers and Sons, with Dred Dorgler, Sr. in the driver's seat, did a 7-0 whitewash job, on the We're Not Ready four, captained by Jack Price while Pat Sweeney was leading his Marksmen to a 5-2 win over Eddy Hackimer's Little Guys. Ending the night's action, the Hurricanes, captained by Greg Simicich, blew away Bob Mashburn and his Team Moss II contingent, via a 5-2 count.
