Henry W. Dwyer of Floral Park has been re-elected chairman of the Board of Governors of Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre. He was first elected to a two-year term as chairman in 1998.

A graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, Mr. Dwyer has a masters degree in public administration from Long Island University. After serving as a commissioned officer in the US Navy, he served in various management posts with the New York Telephone Company before joining Nassau County government as deputy commissioner of Management Information in 1972. He was elected to the New York State Assembly in 1975 and became deputy county executive in 1978. He assumed his administrative role with the Diocese in 1988. In addition to his post with Mercy Medical Center, he serves on the boards of Mercy Hospice, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rockville Center and Immaculate Conception Seminary.

The members of Mercy's Board of Governors include: Ann Barbaccia, MD of Jericho, president of Mercy's medical staff and an obstetrician-gynecologist with a practice in Rockville Centre; Rev. Monsignor Francis J. Caldwell of Rockville Centre, director of priest personnel for the Diocese of Rockville Centre; Patrick F. Carone, MD, of Massapequa Park, president of the Friends of Mercy Medical Center and director of psychiatry at Mercy; Sister Mary Nadine Casey, CIJ, of Rockville Centre, a past president of the Congregation of the Infant Jesus; Sister Dolores Castellano, CIJ, of Rockville Centre, president of the Congregation of the Infant Jesus; Robert Daly, MD of Garden City, a radiologist on the staff of Mercy Medical Center; Vincent DiRubbio of New Hyde Park, president and chief executive officer of Mercy Medical Center; James Dixon of Merrick, managing director of Earley, Kielty & Associates; Daniel V. Duff, Jr., an attorney in Garden City; Paul H. Durnan of Rockville Centre, president of The Durnan Group; Frank Kurre of East Meadow, a partner with Arthur Andersen, LLP; Francis X. Murray of Rockville Centre, immediate past president of the Friends of Mercy Medical Center and principal of Murray Floor Waxing, Inc.; Anne Marie Myatt of Rockville Centre, president of the Council of Leagues of Mercy Medical Center; John E. Ryan, Esq., of Floral Park, a principal in Ryan and Brennan, LLP; Dr. Barry Dov Schwartz of Rockville Centre; Rabbi of Temple B'nai Sholom; and Sister Agnes Stumpf, CIJ, former executive director of the Nursing Sisters Home Visiting Service.
