It looks, to this observer, that the bowling "know-how" of the Floral Park Knights of Columbus pin-spillers has slipped a bit in their effort to pound the Sterling Lane lumber in a fashion that, in weeks past, has fairly screamed: "Git outa th' way -- Here we come!" Nevertheless, their "slipped" condition still gives the pins a good working over and those in the know look for a quick return to the not-too-far-back outings when they were walloping the wood with astounding precision and power.

Pat Murphy picked up all the marbles, in The Top Hotshot race, cranking out a 205 and a 203 loner, on his way to a fine 584 count with Tom Moore trailing him, a bit, at 558, built on a 213 single effort while Greg Simicich put a 547 on the books that showed a nifty 214 solo. Paul Simonetti's 223 solo gave him a 537 trio, a whisker up on a John Fittipaldi 536 and "Knobby" Gregory's 534 that had a 204 loner in its make-up. Joe Silvestri spilled 529 sticks, 205 in one outing, eking past Charley Bingold's solid 528 and a Bob Mashburn 527, while Mike Derby was using a 209 solo to build a 522 trio. Rich Lahey showed a 520 for his labors while Chet Strzepek and Ed Hackimer were doing a "brother" act, at 519, Eddy tossing a 216 loner and Chet, a 208, on the way. Vinny Sheehan carded a 502 and John Sullivan caught the last train, on The Hotshot Express, with a 203 single effort.

Team action saw the league-leading We're Not Ready combine, bossed by Jack Price, take a 5-2 trouncing from The Medical Marvels, with Tom Moore calling signals while Mike's 4, minus Capt. Frank Dehler, was rolling over Mike Honan's MP-JR quartet, in a 5-2 finish. In another 5-2 battle, the Hurricanes, with Greg Simicich in the driver's seat, bested the Whatateam four, captained by John O'Grady and Team Moss II, led by Bob Mashburn, were whitewashed by The Pat Sweeney-led Marksmen, in a 7-0 rout. Ending the night's "Brotherly Bombardment," The Little Guys, with Eddy Hackimer as Top Kick, handed the Fred Dorgler, Sr.-led Fathers and Sons a 5-2 set-back.
