On one of the most explosive nights in the long history of the half-century-old Knights of Columbus Bowling League, the local Caseys pounded the Sterling Lane pins to a frazzle, posting unbelievable scores, while promising that "there's more to come!"

John Fittipaldi and Eddy Hackimer shared Top Hotshot honors -- both carding nifty 646 sets, with John tossing a 254 and a 223 on the way, while Eddy was busy racking up games of 235, 206 and 205. Chet Strzepek hit his stride in fine fashion, rolling a 209, a 226 and a 201 to post a beauty of a 636 set, just nosing out Bob Sheehan, whose 227 and 215 loners gave him a fine 632, for his night's work. Tom Moore cranked out a 224 and a 203, on way to a 620 count. Fred Dorgler, Sr. put a 602 on the books, built on games of 203 and 212, edging Paul Simonetti's 217 and 236 games that led to a 601 total while Rich Lahey was using a 207 game to build a 564 set. A Pat Palliscio 224 single gave him a 561 triple while Charley Bingold and Mike Gallagher crossed the finish line, hand-in-hand, both shooting 555s, with Mike banging out a 223 single on the way. Joe Silvestri's 218 nifty led to a 553 triple, a whisker up on Bob Mashburn's 551 and an Eddy Goodloe 550 that had a 212 solo in its makeup while "Knobby" Gregory was getting in the spotlight with a 210 solo, 541 trio. Frank Dehler and Fred Dorgler, Jr. did a "Brother" act, both carding 540s -- with Frank rolling a 237 single and Fred chiming in with a 221 while Richie Biggin, with a 210 single, 527 triple was a step off the pace. Paul Simonetti shot a solid 523, Jack Price, a 522 and Mike Honan's 199 "almost" gave him a 504 count. Mike Derby's 213 single and Jim Kearney's 202 one-gamer helped them to join The Elites.

In team action, the We're Not Ready crew, bossed by Jack Price did a 5-2 number on Frank Dehler's Mike 4 outfit, while the Tom Moore-led Medical Marvels blanked John O'Grady's Whatateam four, via a 7-0 rout. Mike Honan and his MP-JR unit handed Eddy Hackimer's Little Guys a 5-2 set-back, while Fred Dorgler, Sr. was leading his Father and Sons combine to a 5-2 win over the Team Moss #2 gang, captained by Bob Mashburn. Ending the night's "Columbian Cannonading," the Marksmen, with Pat Sweeney calling signals, eked out a 4-3 nod over the Greg Simicich-led Hurricanes.
