Tom Moore was The Bell-ringer in The Hotshot Department, scorching the lanes with 200, 205 and 232 beauties to card a sizzling 637 set, leaving lots of space between him and runnerup John Fittipaldi, whose 201 loner led to a 576 total, followed by a 225 single, 548 triple tossed by Fred Dorgler Sr. A Jim Kearney 204 single gave him a 540 triple, a whisker up on Joe Silvestri's 537 set and a 202 loner, 531 set posted by Jack Price. Mike Honan was in the crowd with a 530 total and Frank Dehler spilled 523 sticks, 221 in one outing, nipping Greg Simicich's 521 that had a 201 in its makeup. Eddy Hackimer put a 520 in the records, edging a Paul Mastronardi 517 with "Knobby" Gregory a bit off the pace at 513. Mike Derby showed a 505 for his night's work, whlie Bob Sheehan was carving out a two-game 363 set, built on a 214 single effort and Pat Murphy had his face pressed to the Hotshot window with a 499 "almost."
Team action saw the Jack Price-led We're Not Ready combine eke out a 4-3 decision over The Hurricanes, piloted by Greg Simicich, while John O'Grady was leading his Whatateam four to a 5-2 win over the Marksmen, with Pat Sweeney as Chief Sharpshooter. Bob Sheehan's Fathers and Sons unit did a 5-2 number on the MP-JR forces of Mike Honan and Frank Dehler led his Mike's 4 to a 5-2 win over The Little Guys, with Ed Hackimer in the driver's seat. Ending the night's "Columbian Cannonading," the Medical Marvels, bossed by Tom Moore, whitewashed the Team Moss 2 aggregation, via a 7-0 count. was The Caboose on The Star Train with a 201.
