Showing no mercy the Floral Park Knights of Columbus bowlers continued wreaking their weekly carnage on the Sterling Lanes lumber, adding another outstanding effort to the string of thrill-packed outings that have already dotted the "99-00" schedule. This year's exploits have, in the short season, all but erased every mark put on the record books. Going back more than a half century - and we still have 25 more weeks to go!

Tommy Moore grabbed Top Honors in the Hotshot Department, with a 646 beauty of a set, built on games of 227, 213, and 206, edging a fine 609 effort by Greg Simpson, who rolled a 200 and a 227 on the way and John Fittipaldi was right there, carding a 559 "almost" on 226 and 203 single games. Paul Simonetti got into the act, with a 233 solo, 579 trio, a step up on Eddy Hackimer's 203 single, 576 triple while Bob Mashburn was spilling 574 sticks, 243 in one outing. A Mike Honan 199 "almost" gave him a 573, "Knobby" Gregory and Mike Gallagher crossed the finish line hand-in-hand, at 572 -- "Knobby" tossing a 224 solo and Mike a 206 loner while an Anthony Morena" 200 solo helped him post a 553 trio. Pat Murphy rolled a solid 543, Jack Price trailed him, tossing a 217 one-gamer, on way to a 526 count while Joe Silvestri showed a 520 for his night's work. Frank Dehler dumped 516 hunks of lumber, Chet Strzepek banged out a 511 and Mike Derby was The Caboose on The Star Train, with a 170 game, leading to a 502 set.

In team action, Team Moss 2, with Bob Mashburn running the show, bowed to the Hurricanes, captained by Greg Simicich, in a 5-2 battle while Jack Price was leading his We're Not Ready outfit to a 7-0 whitewash of The Fathers and Sons, bossed by Fred Dorgler, Sr. The Marksmen, with Pat Sweeney, as Top Sharpshooter, eked out a 4-3 decision over Eddy Hackimer's Little Guys while Tommy Moore's Medical Marvels performed surgery on the MP-JR combine, via a 5-2 count. Mike's Four, with Anthony Morena in the driver's seat, blanked the John O'Grady - led Whatateam in a 7-0 rout, as they put out the lights and turned the key in the door.
