Never, in the more than half-century existence of the Floral Park Knights of Columbus Bowling League, has there been the continuous, week after week, explosive "wood-walloping" that the present crop of Casey Cannonaders has unleashed upon the poor, defenseless pins. The present crop of maple-maulers are tearing the record book apart every time they toe the mark and their ferocity seems to grow, week after week, as they supplant the high marks of, last week, with higher marks this week!

John Fittipaldi scorched the Sterling hardwood with a sizzling 690 set that was built on 257, 212, and 221 beauties to grab Top Hotshot honors, far outdistancing Mike Derby, as runner-up, who "only" carded a 613, that included 212 and 203 solo efforts. A Frank Dehler 222 loner gave him a 598, edging Tommy Moore's 597 effort that had a 218 in its make-up and Mike Gallagher banged out a 220 and a 206 on way to a 576 total.

Joe Silvestri put a 570 on record, with a 199 "almost" tossed in. Jim Kearney rang in with a solid 543 and Tony Morena's 209 solo led to a 540. Charley Bingold had a solid 534, a step up on Mike Honan's 531 that included a 200 loner while Bob Sheehan was using a 211 solo to post a 527 trio. Bob Mashburn downed 519 hunks of lumber, with Pat Murphy crowding him, at 518 and a Joe Oswald 208 loner gained him a 516 total. Paul Simonetti rang the bell with a 508. Ed Hackimer made noise with a 507 while Vinny Sheehan and Chet Strzepek were "hand-in-hand," at 506. "Knobby" Gregory was The Caboose on The Star Train, with a 204 solo that led to a 499 "almost."

Team action saw the John O'Grady-led Whatateam do a 5-2 number on Bob Mashburn and his Team Moss 2 combine while Mike Honan was piloting his MP-Jr four to a 7-0 blanking of the Hurricanes, bossed by Greg Simicich. Jack Price's We're Not Ready gang was ready enough to down the Little Guys, with Ed Hackimer in the driver's seat, via a 5-2 count while Frank Dehler led his Mike's 4 to a 7-0 whitewash of the Fathers and Sons, captained by Fred Dorgler, Sr. Ending the night's "Brotherly Bombarding," The Medical Marvels, led by Chief Marvel Tom Moore, blanked Pat Sweeney's Marksmen, in a 7-0 battle.
