The Floral Park K of C pin-spillers are adamant in their efforts to make the last year of this century one to be remembered, especially when the subject of bowling is brought up.

Spilling the wood in a fashion reminescent of a runaway freight train they continue to put up numbers, the likes of which haven't been seen in many a year -- and probably won't be, for many more years to come.

Joe Silvestri grabbed The Brass Ring, in The Hotshot Merry-go-'Round, with a sizzling 669 set, built on 212, 235 and 222 beauties, a couple of paces ahead of Tommy Moore who "only" posted 201 and 223 singles that led to a nifty 616. Mike Gallagher hooked together a 203 and a 231 to card a fine 598 and a John Fittipaldi 206 single gave him a 574 total. Paul Simonetti crowded John, with a 573 that had a 206 loner in its make-up, Eddy Hackimer made noise with a 239 single, 563 triple and Bob Mashburn got into the act with a 210 one-gamer that led to a 557. The "other" Bob -- Sheehan, rolled a solid 547, a whisker up on Jack Price's 543 and a Richy Biggin 540 while Fred Dorgler Jr. used a 214 loner to build a 531 set. Mike Honan's solid 530 nosed out Rich Lahey's 527 that showed a 212 one-timer while Jim Kearney was cranking out a 519 total that contained a 215 single effort. Charley Bingold and "Knobby" Gregory breasted the tape, hand-in-hand, at 514, Frank Dehler was a step off the pace, at 512 and Mike Derby was there, with a 389 two-game total. John O'Grady squeezed onto The Elite Roll, posting a 204 loner and Pat Murphy was left out in the cold, with a 199 "almost."
