Like "Ol' Man River," the Floral Park Knights of Columbus pin punishers "jes keep rollin' along," filling the Sterling Lanes with loud explosions of pins scattering, in all directions, as they continue to put big -- but BIG numbers on the books.

Jim Kearney was Top Hotshot with a 612 3-game beauty that was built on a 233 and 235, with Mike Gallagher crowding him, at 608, showing games of 205 and 206 while Tommy Moore was a close third, downing 604 sticks -- a set that included 211 and 227 solo efforts. Paul Simonetti's 212 and 200 beauties led to a fine 593, a few steps up on Bob Mashburn's solid 567 and Tony Morena's 552 while "Knobby" Gregory was using a 222 solo to post a 541 trio. Jack Price banged out a 200 single on way to a 536 triple, edging Pat Murphy's 530 count and a Bob Sheehan 203 loner gave him a 527, nosing out John Fittipaldi, at 524. Joe Silvestri and Rich Lahey did a "brother act," at 522 with Pat Sweeney trailing, at 519 -- a 203 loner tossed in and Fred Dorgler, Sr. was there, carding a 514. Another hook-up saw Ed Hackimer and Mike Honan showing 505s for their night's work as Eddy rolled a 201, on the way and Greg Simicich trailed, at 502. Paul Mastronardi and Cliff Weinberg had their faces pressed to the window, each with a 199 "almost."

Team action saw Mike Honan pilot his MP-JR crew to a 5-2 win over Mike's Four, minus absent Captain Frank Dehler, while the Greg Simicich-led Hurricanes were eking out a 4-3 nailbiter over John O'Grady and his Whatateam gang. The Medical Marvels, with Tommy Moore in the driver's seat, did a 5-2 number on the We're Not Ready crew -- Jack Price calling the signals while the Little Guys, led by Eddy Hackimer was handing Fred Dorgler, Sr. and his Father and Sons combine a 5-2 setback. turning out the lights and putting the key in the door was Bob Mashburn, as he led his Team Moss #2 to a 7-0 whitewash of the Pat Sweeney-led Marksmen.
