Three weeks into the new season and it's just "more of the same," as the Floral Park Knights of Columbus bowlers "had at" the Sterling Bowl pins in what can only be called "Sterling Fashion."

Paul Simonetti led the assault on the lumber with a nifty 225 solo that gave him a 594 trio, a step up on Joe Silvestri's 592 that had a 199 "almost" in its make-up. Bob Sheehan used a 240 single to post a 544 triple, edging a Jim Kearny 541 and John Fittipaldi's 540. Mike Honan downed 215 sticks, on way to a 538 total with Charley Bingold trailing, at 531, tossing a 200 one-gamer, while Pat Sweeney was knotted with Tommy Moore, at 521. Another "brother act" saw Greg Simicich and John O'Grady roll identical 520 sets, with Richie Biggin trailing, at 518, a step up on Jack Price's 517. Vinny Sheehan downed 513 hunks of lumber while John Luger was fashioning a 507 and Herman Determann came up with a 505. Fred Dorgler Sr. made the Elites with a 500.

Team action saw the Bob Mashburn-led Team Moss 2 drop a 5-2 decision to the Fathers and Sons, bossed by Bob Sheehan while the MP Jr. crew, with Mike Honan calling signals, blanked Eddy Hackimer's Little Guys, via a 7-0 count. John O'Grady piloted his Whatateam four to a 7-0 battering of the Medical Marvels, captained by Tommy Moore while Jack Price was leading his We're Not Ready gang to a 7-0 pasting of Mike's Four, captained by Frank Dehler. Ending the action for the night, the Marksman, with Pat Sweeney as team leader, took a 5-2 decision away from the Greg Simicich-led Hurricanes.

A Little Side-Note: Great to see "Knobby" Gregory back in action again. Let's hope he starts bangin' them like he did all through the years! Go get 'em, Knobby!
