For the second year, the Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island (VNA/LI) presents its highly-successful Charity Golf Classic set for Monday, Sept. 27, at the Huntington Country Club. The 1999 benefit golf outing was officially launched by its honoree, Newsday's publisher, president and CEO Raymond A. Jansen, at a special luncheon recently held at Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island's headquarters in Garden City.
"This annual event is an opportunity for the Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island to honor Raymond A. Jansen for his outstanding dedication to the community, as well as raise funds needed to continue the vital health care services provided by our organization," explains Orael M. Keenan, CEO and executive director of VNA/LI. "We have made a commitment to our patients and their families that what we offer and the quality of those services will never change. Through successful fund raisers, such as the Charity Golf Classic, we can continue this very proud legacy."
The Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island offers a wide range of home health and community-based services including Meals on Wheels. Other VNA/LI programs include the certified home health agency, a licensed agency, and a long-term home health care program. VNA/LI's professional care team includes registered nurses, certified home health aides, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech/language pathologists and medical social workers.
