Edward Travaglianti, chairman and chief executive officer of EAB, recently presented Christine Bach of Floral Park Memorial High School an EAB/News 12 Scholar-Athlete Award. Bach is one of 30 recipients from Nassau and Suffolk Counties who were chosen for their outstanding achievement in the classroom, athletic competition, leadership and service to their respective communities.

In basketball, Christine was team captain, All-County, All-State and set career records in assists and steals over the past two years. In ninth and 10th grades, she was All-Division in track. She was captain of her soccer team and All-Class B. Academically, Bach had an unweighted average of 94.9 and her SAT composite score is 1,390. She is ranked number three in a class of 210.

Bach will use her $1,000 scholarship at Manhattan College in the fall.

The EAB/News 12 Scholar-Athlete Program completed its 12th season and has provided over $300,000 to Long Island's high school students.
