The Floral Park Knights of Columbus pin-punishers, picking up steam with each week's outing, give the onlooker an alarming look at a juggernaut in full force, flattening everything in its path while promising more of the same in the future.
John O'Grady donned The Purple Robes of Hotshot King, posting a 595 net, built on 202 and 209 games, shading a Chet Strzepek 593 series that had a 222 loner in its makeup. Paul Simonetti's 213 solo led to a 574 trio, a whisker up on Mike Gallagher's 203 single, 573 count and edging a Tommy Moore 213 single 572 triple. Frank Dehler was a step behind at 566 built on a 214 one-gamer. Richie Biggin spilled 560 sticks, 235 in one outing. Oscar Grasser loafed to a 528 and Cliff Weinberg joined in with a 515. Bob Sheehan dogged Cliff's heels at 514, while Mike Honan and Joe Oswald did a "brother act," both carding 503s. Eddy White made The Elites with a 500 three-gamer.
In team action, the Whacos, bossed by Ted Nowacki, whitewashed Team THREE with Oscar Grasser calling signals in a 7-0 rout, while Paul Simonetti led his Team MOSS to a 7-0 blanking of the Dot Heads, quarterbacked by Jimmy O'Neill. Pat Murphy's Standing Pat combine did a 7-0 number on the Pat Sweeney-led Mailmen. Eddy Goodloe piloted his Gloms to a 7-0 win over "Knobby" Gregory's Saints and ending the night's "Brotherly Bombardment," Jim Kearney and his J-Crew took the Joe Oswald-led Shumstetters into camp via a 4-3 count.
