The Women’s Club of Farmingdale would like to say thank you to the Farmingdale community for their support with Art in the Park on Sunday Sept. 13.
Special thanks to Jaime Tomeo, editor of the Farmingdale Observer, who was instrumental with advertising not only in Farmingdale but also in the surrounding communities. Our gratitude is also extended to Mayor George “Butch” Starkie, Deputy Mayor Pat Christiansen, Trustee Cheryl Parisi and all the trustees who supported and participated in the project from the onset as well as the village staff. To Debbie Podolski, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Director of the Farmingdale library, who joined the project with support and enthusiasm, we express our thanks. To Jan DiGeronimo and the Sperry Credit Union who gave gifts plus the many merchants who donated gift certificates to be awarded to the artists included with their ribbons, we thank you for your generosity. To the Farmingdale Fire Department who graciously hung the Art in the Park banner across Main Street. To the musicians who enhanced the mood of the day, we thank you for your efforts.
Art in the Park proved to be an exciting and colorful event. The 47 artists and some of the visitors who had never been to Farmingdale were impressed with our lovely park and village. All enjoyed the experience. The good feelings brought to our community and the art that was shared that day made our efforts worthwhile.
Thank you for sharing the day and supporting Art in the Park. All proceeds will be donated to scholarship and community projects.
