Friday, 09 March 2012 00:00I have been a resident of the Village of Farmingdale on Conklin Street for over 60 years. My wife was born here. We have seen many changes. Some good and some not so good, but change will happen.
There was a time when the Village of Farmingdale and its downtown was very vibrant; not so much any more. Main Street has been going downhill at an ever-increasing rate of speed.
A great deal of money and time has been spent studying this problem and the present board has drawn up a plan to turn this situation around. I commend the many hours of meetings and studies our present board has participated in to make this study possible.
We are now at a crossroads. It is a must that we keep the Village Board of Trustees intact in order to bring these plans to fruition.
I strongly recommend that we all vote for Ralph Ekstrand for Mayor, Bill Barrett and Tom Ryan for trustees in order to continue on with these plans for a better more stable and vibrant Village of Farmingdale.
