Louis M. Ramu

Louis M. Ramu, 83, of West Nyack, NY, formerly of Massapequa, died on Sept. 10. 2009. A WWII US Navy veteran, he was a retired NCPD detective and former vice president of the Nassau PBA. He was directly responsible for the passage of the statewide police 20-year Retirement Act. Partner of Mary Cerberville. Father of Consuelo Gross (the late Robert), Louis Ramu (Carol) and Philip Ramu (Carol). Grandpops of eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also survived by former wife Pilar Ramu and his extended loved ones, Mark Cerberville (Julie) and their three children. Arrangements were made by the Arthur F. White Funeral Home. A service was held Sept. 14 at the funeral home. Interment Calverton National Cemetery. Louis’ family requests that donations in his memory be sent to the Lustgarten Foundation, 1111 Stewart Ave., Bethpage, NY 11714.
