Members of the Farmingdale High School Marching Band, on Oct. 17, delivered a routine filled with spirit and excitement during a three-day festival at Hofstra University, hosted by Newsday. During the annual event, the FHS marching band performed popular songs like The Beetles-hit, “The Magical Mystery Tour/Lady Madonna” A-Ha’s “Take on Me,” and Sly & the Family Stone’s hit, “Dance to the Music.”
At the end of their first tune, students shuffled into line formation, spelling out “F’Dale” across the football field as parents cheered from the rafters.
After the performance onlookers and observers commented on the Farmingdale marching band’s huge sound and polished look. Experienced marching band musicians discussed every aspect of Farmingdale’s performance—including straight instrument angles, posture, lateral movement, intensity, solid percussion beat, excellent intonation, and pride of performers.
Commentators also made mention of the FHS presentation of the Dalerette Kick, Pom and Dance teams. One expereiced choreographer from Suffolk County even said that Farmingdale’s Kickline was “the best of the evening.”
The Dalerettes’ outstanding choreography, energy, and precision were integral to Farmingdale’s exciting performance.
