On Aug. 27, the Farmingdale School District Board of Education will meet at 8 p.m., inside the Weldon E. Howitt Middle School cafeteria for a special meeting on setting the tax levy.
On Aug. 28, come to the village green at 8 p.m. for a showing of the film The Nut Job. Rated PG, 85 minutes. The film follows Will Arnett as Surly, an incorrigibly self-serving exiled squirrel who finds himself helping his former park brethren raid a nut store to survive.
This labor day weekend, Aug. 29-Sept. 1, visit the American Airpower Museum at 1230 New Highway in Farmingdale, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., when over a dozen historic warbirds will be available for the ultimate flight experience. Seats for the Douglas C-47 “D-Day/Market Garden” flight experience, on Saturday, are still available but are filling up fast. On Aug. 30, come to the Village of Farmingdale, from 9-10:30 a.m., for the tenth annual Main Street Mile. The festivities kick off with a fun run for the kids at 8:30 a.m. The women’s run will start promptly at 9:10 a.m. with the men’s run to follow at 9:40 a.m. The race begins at Powell Cemetery and ends at Village Hall, 361 Main St. in Farmingdale. On Aug. 30, come to the village green along Main Street in Farmingdale from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. for the final day of the village’s Artisan Market.
The next meeting of the Farmingdale Baseball League Inc. will be held at 8 p.m. on Sept. 2, at the meeting house at Ellsworth W. Allen Park, 45 Motor Ave., Farmingdale.
