The Farmingdale High School Junior Varsity Softball team started their fastpitch season with two impressive wins. Opening day saw Sophomore Tori Kornfeld pitch a perfect game no hitter, striking out 12 as they beat Valley Stream Central 27-0. The team gave her plenty of support. Outstanding efforts by Denise Desel (two-for-two) Jess Napoli (three-for-three) and Kornfeld (four-for-four with a Home Run) were just some of the hitting highlights. Their great hitting and outstanding pitching continued their second game as they beat Calhoun 15-3. Deseel once again led the hitting efforts going three-for-three. Nicole Hayden was three-for-four and Johanna Kelin added a two-for-three day. Kornfeld only allowed two hits and struck out seven to earn the win.
