Joseph F. Hoffmans, 88, of Bethpage passed away February 25, 2009. WW II U.S. Coast Guard veteran, Retired NYPD manager of Columbia Savings Bank, member of Hartigan K of C #5033. Husband of the late Viola. Father of Virginia Mary Robertson, JoAnn Kastrinos (Ted), Cathy-Ann Russo (Gerald) and the late Bryan Hoffmans (Julie). Grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc. A Funeral Mass was held Feb. 27, at St. Martin of Tours RC Church, with interment following at Holy Rood Cemetery.
Anthony J. Fiore, 94, of East Meadow (formerly of Farmingdale) passed away on February 27, 2009. Husband of the late Rose. Father of Richard (Marie), Anthony (Patricia) and Mary Davidson. Grandfather of eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc. Michael P. Wilpan, 56, of Palm Coast, FL (formerly of Massapequa) passed away on February 20, 2009. Before his retirement he had worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years at the Greenvale, Farmingdale and Hicksville facilities. Michael was also active for more than twenty years as a member of the Board of Directors for the Alumni Association of SUNY Farmingdale, where he had received a degree in Aircraft Operations. He is survived by his children, Anabel and Edward Wilpan. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation took place March 3, at the funeral home. Religious Services and interment were held at Mount Ararat Cemetery.
Mary W. Hagmeyer of South Farmingdale passed away on March 3, 2009. Wife of 59 years to John. Mother of Peggy Strom, Jack, Gerard and Kathy DeGeronimo. Grandmother of seven grandchildren and two great-grandsons. Predeceased by her brother, Frederick Weil, and her sister, Sr. Catherine Weil, CSJ. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. Helen Pirone (nee Pavlyak), 91, formerly of Melville and Amityville passed away in Arlington, Virginia on February 24, 2009. Predeceased by her husbands Frank Wilson and Carmine Pirone, and her daughter, Helene Burwell. Survived by her son, Richard Wilson, grandchildren Brian Berke, Kyra Cammaratta, Neil Wilson, David Wilson, Laura Wilson, ten great-grandchildren, brother George Pavlyak and sister, Mary Pantalos.
