The OTHG Softball League is having open registration for new players wishing to sign up for the 2009 season. To be eligible, you need to be at least 40 years old (reached at any time during the calendar year) and either a Town of Oyster Bay or Farmingdale resident. Registration will be held on Friday Jan. 23, Wednesday, Jan. 28 and Friday, Jan. 30 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Allen Park, which is located on Motor Avenue in Farmingdale. Online registrants and new registrants are required to bring proof of residency and age. League has 12 teams and is played with rule modifications. Games are nine innings, played on a 16-game schedule on Friday nights at 7, 8:20 or 9:40 p.m. at Allen Park. New player fee: approximately $140 due by March 6.
