The Farmingdale Yankees 18 and over won the Stan Musial Championship at the PAL Stadium in Holbrook. The Yankees finished in first place in the regular season with a record of 17-4 in a 23-team league. This was a challenge for this team, which is made up of mostly high school players playing against college players.

In the first round the Yankees beat the Long Island Angels 4-0. The second round they beat the Silver Bullets 9-1. The Yankees found themselves in a nail-bitter beating Harborfield 4-3 in the third round. That was a great comeback win. The semifinals were next with the Yankees making another come back win beating the Red Sox 5-2. Now it was time to move on to the final game. They were facing the defeating champions Bliss Bar that had a record of 67-15 over the last four years. The Yankees fell behind 2-0, came back to win 7-2 against an all-conference college pitcher.

A truly great season for a great group of young men who the coaches have had the honor of coaching for the last nine years. They would like to thank the parents who make coaching this special team an enjoyable and fun experience.

The Farmingdale Baseball Club had two players receive baseball scholarship from their program, which they are very proud of.
