Rainy weather wiped out last weeks slate of Over the Hill games, so there is no action to report. This week (Friday, 8/15) is the annual Over the Hill Gang Charity fundraiser. Players please come down with your raffle tickets and your friends to help raise money for "Daniela". The entire Farmingdale community is invited. The event is a great late summer opportunity to spend some time with friends and neighbors while helping a child in need. There will be free pizza, music, refreshments and plenty of raffles. The grand prize is a 52 inch HDTV. Over the Hill players will compete in a home run hitting contest and an All-Star game. If nothing else, it will be a great chance to see if your favorite Over the Hill Gang player is really as good as he claims.

Synergy continued to struggle with their defense and attendance as only 10 players showed up three of whom which played hurt. One still must give credit to the Hampton Air team who had their hitting shoes on as they pounded out 26 runs as they pulled away from the Synergy Team in the fourth inning. Hampton Air team appears to be peaking at the right time as they truly played like a team committed to winning. Brian Landi hit a 2 run home run and Dennis Oehl had another 4 hit night for the Synergy team which hopes to get their act together by playoff time.
